What the office sees
Attendance is live by batch, day and student, so you can see who is in right now and look back through any student's history month by month, without opening a register.
Parents hear about absences on their own
When a student is marked absent, their parent is told automatically over WhatsApp, email or a push notification. A parent finds out the same day, not at the next meeting.
The institute controls which alerts go out, and parents can choose how they hear from you.
Attendance feeds everything else
Because attendance lives in the same record as marks and fees, a student who starts missing classes shows up in Canop's early warnings, and regular attendance can earn points and streaks.
Staff attendance is available too, as an optional module.

Can teachers mark attendance on their phones?
Yes. Teachers can take attendance from the mobile app or the web.
Does every student need a smartphone for QR attendance?
No. A teacher can mark the whole batch instead, so nobody is left out.
Are parents told about every absence?
Yes, unless you turn it off. Each alert can be switched on or off for the institute, and parents can set their own preferences.
